CSA FAQsWhat is Community Supported Agriculture?Members support the farm by buying their produce in advance. This helps the farmer with his seed, fertilizer, supplies, greenhouse and fuel expenses. In return the members share the bountiful harvest. This builds a community relationship between the farmers and the members.
What do I get for my membership?The most delicious certified organic vegetables, greens, fruits and herbs of the season — Choose 16 weeks (June - September) or 24 weeks (June thru November) of fresh harvest, a newsletter and recipes with every pickup. How much is a membership?
* Vacation share explained below. What is a Vacation Share?Members who travel or find it inconvienient to pick-up at scheduled CSA times can opt for a vacation share. An initial deposit of $250.00 is placed into an account at the farmstand and members shop any time the farm stand is open for a 10% discount over listed farm stand prices. When account is depleted they will be notified to replenish in $50.00 increments. This option is only for local members who can pick-up at the farmstand and is not available for delivery or refunds. How do I get my produce?On their first visit in the spring, members receive a Valley Dream Farm Bag that they bring to the farm stand weekly and fill with their allotted vegetables and herbs. Deliveries are offered for an additional $60.00 per season or free to your office (with a minimum of 4 members) or to local drop sites in Burlington, Essex, Hyde Park, Jericho, Johnson, Morrisville, Richmond, So. Burlington, and Williston. What fruits and vegetables will I receive over the season?
Beets, broccoli, cauliflower, lettuce, peas, cucumbers, summer squash, onions, potatoes, green beans, spinach, garlic, yellow beans, tomatoes, pea pods, purple beans, kohlrabi, radishes, celery, Swiss chard, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, garlic scapes, snap peas, red onions, Zucchini, acorn, butternut, buttercup, delicata, pie pumpkin, jack-o-lantern, dried beans, beets, carrots, turnips, potatoes, winter squashes, basil, dill, chives, cilantro, sage, thyme, our famous sweet corn, strawberries, cantaloupe, watermelons, and salad greens and tomatoes from our greenhouses. What else is available?Members are offered 12 week additional shares for flowers, goat cheese, artisan breads, eggs, and local meats, ordered at the first pick-up or at the Spring Celebration.
What happens to extra produce?The farm supports community needs by donating produce to local food shelves, community organizations, salvation farms and the Vermont food bank. Valley Dream Farm llc has now donated over 50,000 pounds to those in need. SIGN UP NOW for Fresh organic vegetables.
Certified OrganicThis 300 acre certified organic farm undergoes an annual inspection by the Northeast Organic Farm Association (NOFA) in cooperation with the Vermont Organic Farmers Association.
